Zimbabwe's Jamie Whyte, driving a Subaru Impreza, made his presence felt at the 2008 Rally of Tanzania where he took a creditable fifth place in Dar es Salaam on Sunday. Whyte and his veteran fellow Zimbabwean co-driver Phil Archenoul did well to finish in the Top Five in the weekend's three-day race, which was the first leg of the six-race African Rally Championship. According to reports from Dar es Salaam, Whyte "was brave enough" to overcome a puncture to drive through the ramp four places behind the winner Muna Singh of Zambia.
