The Plight of an African Girl Child – Feb 26,2011

The girl child is the most neglected member of the family in rural Zambia and a result many young girls drop out of school at an early age to become wives. Many are forced to engage in early sexual vices due to lack of financial support that could support them in school. The panel will this week discuss ways and means of supporting the girl child given limited resources in many rural families.Also to be discussed is the effect of Western culture on young Zambian girls in urban cities and its long term impact on the spread of HIV/Aids, morality and eraly pregnancy among girls.
