Over the last several years, we’ve seen a decrease in effectiveness of “classical” security tools. The nature of the present day attacks is very different from what the security community has been used to in the past. The Cyber Crime Africa Summit, which will take place at the Hotel Apollo, comes at a point where the Continent is seeing explosive growth in information and communication technologies and an increase in cyber crime.
The conference will discuss best use of existing and new programmes to enhance Information Technology transformation and security issues affecting Africa and will feature expert speakers from both African countries. The summit will be held in Johannesburg on November 2008, during the 10-13th with a key note from her Excellency Dr. Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri.

The summit, organised by AII and Couzyn Hertzog & Horak, will examine the impact of Cyber crime in Africa by expert researchers and leaders in the IT Industry. However, the main thrust of this summit will be the discussion of what can be provided to meet the challenges in this inadequately tackled issue emerging from control and protection of computers and networks.

The key topics in the cyber crime conference will by diversified among an impressive line up of senior speakers from Africa who will provoke you to facilitate and harness an African encryption policy, legislation, compliance and management dynamics to tackle this criminality we tend to ignore in our continent.

‘The summit will enable all participants to benefit from obtaining valuable insights from leading local and African experts on IT and the digital Armageddon we are facing.

Let us fail to see digital security as a risky business and let’s sink the phishermen’s boat!
