Africa Internet Summit 2013

Africa Internet Summit (AIS) 2013, formerly African Network Operators’ Group (AfNOG) and the African Network Information Centre (AfriNIC) are pleased to announce that the 12th AfNOG Workshop & Meeting and the AfriNIC-18 Meeting would be held in Lusaka, Zambia from 9th – 21 June 2013. Every year, hundreds of Network Engineers from across the IT industry in the Africa Continent world attend the AIS Event. “While AIS fuels the rapid growth of Internet in Africa with trained technical capacity, our content has been determined by the needs of the community. In so doing AIS’s output training capacity has multiplied in the past decade and the community flourished.”

About the Entire Event

AIS is organizing a two-week event that includes the AfNOG Workshop on Network Technology (offering advanced training in a week-long hands-on workshop), several full-day Advanced Tutorials, a one-day AfNOG Meeting, and a three-day AfriNIC Meeting.

In addition, several side meetings and workshops will be hosted in collaboration with other organizations.

Who Should Attend

Network engineers in the Africa region who wish to acquire the necessary skill in IT must can attend this Workshop.

20th UNWTO General Assembly

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is the United Nations agency responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism.

Zambia and Zimbabwe proposed to jointly host the 20th Session of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) General Assembly in their two border towns, namely, Livingstone, and Victoria Falls, respectively.  To this effect, a decision was passed that the two countries be awarded the right to jointly host the UNWTO General Assembly to be held in Livingstone and Victoria Falls Towns from 24th to 29th August, 2013.

Registration for the Assembly session will be carried out online. The participation form is available on the UNWTO website. Participants are requested to kindly complete the online participation form before Wednesday, 24 July 2013, on which date online registration will be closed.

As the leading international organization in the field of tourism, UNWTO promotes tourism as a driver of economic growth, inclusive development and environmental sustainability and offers leadership and support to the sector in advancing knowledge and tourism policies worldwide.

Its ordinary ‎sessions, held every two years, are attended by delegates of the Full and Associate ‎Members, as well as representatives from the Business Council.‎ It is the most important meeting of senior tourism officials and high-level ‎representatives of the private sector from all over the world. ‎
