On behalf of the Zambia Heritage Association of Chicago (ZHAC), I again take this opportunity to thank you for all your support in times of need or collective calamity. Just in the last year, the community of Zambians in Chicago has had two bereavements. We all rose to the challenge and raised the necessary funds to repatriate the deceased to Zambia for burial.
As commendable as this show of support is, it is unsustainable in the long run if we have to always dig deep into our pockets each time we have a death in the community. It is for this reason that the Association has embarked on establishing a system that will ensure that every member of our community is covered for the inevitable.
Because of the serious nature of the subject at hand, we have organized a public meeting and everyone in the community is encouraged to attend. The Association has also invited experts in the field of Life and Funeral benefits who will be part of the discussion.
The details of the meetings are as follows:
Date: Saturday December 17, 2011
Time: 7-9pm
Venue: Comfort Inn & Suites
2200 S. Elmhurst Street
Mount Prospect, IL 60056.
